We discussed water use: Direct uses and indirect uses. We examined how water is used to make a can of orange juice and 1 egg. (wow that was a lot of water).
I also gave out the water use diary and explained how to fill it out. Please begin on either Thursday of Friday, so that you can measure the water use for 1 weekend day.
Homework:
Read pages 7-9.
Do problems 1 and 2 on page 23.

Hi Class,
Today in class we reviewed the safety rules. You will have a quiz on the rules on Wednesday August 8. You must pass with a 100%. If you do not pass it on Wednesday, you must come in on your own time to retake the quiz, prior to performing any lab.
Today's Bell Ringer: Name 5 safe lab behaviors and 5 unsafe lab behaviors.
After reviewing the lab safety rules we read pages 4-6 in your text book. I passed out a reading content worksheet, which was to be done in class. After completing the worksheet, you were all instructed to file in the classwork section of your binders.
Remember, binders will be collected on Tuesday, August 14 in anticipation of Parent Night.
For homework: You were instructed to divide a piece of paper in half to make 2 columns. Write the title for the left column: Facts, and the right column: opinion. Re-read pages 4-6 and give 5 example of fact, and 5 examples of opinion in the articles. In addition have your safety contracts signed, study for the quiz on Wednesday, and finish classwork if not done.
See you on Wednesday.
